2025 AT A GLANCE

In 2025, the ElizabethJack-Rich Aid Foundation (EJRAID) marked a significant milestone bysuccessfully reactivating its operations after a two-year pause. The yearrepresented not only a return to service but a renewed commitment to drivingmeaningful and measurable social impact across vulnerable communities inNigeria. Guided by its humanitarian mission and aligned with the United NationsSustainable Development Goals SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education),and SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth) the foundation implementedtargeted, people-centered interventions that addressed education, economicempowerment, and social welfare.

A major highlight ofthe year was the expansion of EJRAID’s education support initiatives.Recognizing education as a powerful tool for breaking cycles of poverty, thefoundation added six (6) new scholarship beneficiaries while renewing supportfor nine (9) existing students for the 2025/2026 academic year. Thesebeneficiaries, drawn from vulnerable and underserved communities across Lagos,Rivers, and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), received assistance aimed atensuring continuity in their education, improved learning opportunities, and amore stable path toward future independence and success.

In line with its focuson economic empowerment and sustainable livelihoods, EJRAID entered a strategicpartnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF) to providevocational skills training for young women. Through this collaboration, eighty(80) participants were enrolled in structured training programs designed toequip them with practical, income-generating skills. In the first phase,forty-six (46) young women successfully completed the program and werepositioned to pursue entrepreneurship or employment opportunities, strengthening their financial independence. The remaining thirty-four (34)participants are progressing through the second phase, ensuring continuity andsustained impact beyond the initial rollout.

Beyond education andskills development, EJRAID continued to provide direct social support tovulnerable individuals facing severe economic hardship. The foundationsustained monthly utility assistance for four (4) vulnerable women, helping toalleviate financial pressure and ensure access to essential services.Additionally, EJRAID delivered comprehensive housing and livelihood support toa formerly homeless woman and her son, enabling them to transition into a saferand more stable living environment. This intervention not only restored dignitybut also provided a foundation for long-term economic stability and personalgrowth.

Overall, 2025represented a year of strong organizational recovery, resilience, and renewedpurpose for EJRAID. Through strategic partnerships, targeted interventions, anda commitment to measurable outcomes, the foundation demonstrated its ability todeliver high-impact, cost-effective programs that address real community needs. The progress achieved throughout the year reaffirmed EJRAID’s role as acatalyst for empowerment, hope, and sustainable development, setting a solidfoundation for expanded initiatives and deeper community engagement in theyears ahead.

Educational Scholarship Project – 2025

The EducationalScholarship Project remains one of the Elizabeth Jack-Rich Aid Foundation’s(EJRAID) flagship initiatives, designed to provide children from vulnerable andunderserved communities with access to quality education and long-termopportunities for personal development. The program focuses on supportingorphans and children facing financial hardship by removing barriers toconsistent schooling and creating pathways toward academic success andself-sufficiency.

In commemoration ofChildren’s Day 2025, EJRAID expanded its scholarship program by awardingeducational support to six (6) children drawn from two partner organizations: FolaMola Global Initiative Foundation and Chosen Child Orphanage and Care Centre. These organizations provide care and educational support for orphans andvulnerable children residing within Ifelodun Local Council Development Area(LCDA), under the Ajeromi-Ifelodun Local Government Area of Lagos State. Thescholarship awards covered essential academic needs and reinforced EJRAID’scommitment to promoting inclusive education and equal access to learningopportunities.

Prior to implementation, the foundation conducted a comprehensive needs assessment andresearch process aimed at identifying credible partner organizations workingwith children between the ages of 8 and 18 years within the Sari-Iganmu toOrile axis. This assessment ensured that beneficiaries were selected based ongenuine need, vulnerability level, and potential for educational advancement. With the collaboration and guidance of the Social Workers LCDA Association,EJRAID successfully identified suitable organizations and engaged withstakeholders to ensure transparent beneficiary selection and programeffectiveness.

The successful rolloutof the project not only expanded EJRAID’s scholarship portfolio but alsostrengthened partnerships within the local social development ecosystem. Byadding six new children to its scholarship initiative in 2025, EJRAIDreaffirmed its commitment to breaking cycles of poverty through education whilefostering hope and stability for vulnerable families and communities.

Youth Skills Acquisition Project - In Partnership with Lagos StateEmployment Trust Fund (LSETF)

In 2025, EJRAIDreinforced its commitment to youth empowerment and economic inclusion through astrategic partnership with the Lagos State Employment Trust Fund (LSETF). TheYouth Skills Acquisition Project was developed to equip young women aged 18-35 across Lagos State with practical vocational skills that enhance employability, promote entrepreneurship, and encourage long-term economic independence.

The program generatedsignificant interest, receiving a total of three hundred and nine (309)applications from young women eager to gain sustainable income-generatingskills. Following a structured screening and selection process, forty-six (46)candidates were admitted into the first cohort of the training program.Participants underwent intensive vocational training designed to buildtechnical competence, business management knowledge, and entrepreneurialconfidence necessary to succeed in competitive markets.

Upon completion of thefirst phase, all forty-six (46) participants successfully transitioned fromunemployment or economic vulnerability into active income earners. Many of thebeneficiaries established and began managing their own small businesses, contributingto household income, financial stability, and improved quality of life. Theproject demonstrated strong potential for scalable impact by transformingskills into tangible economic outcomes.

To ensure continuityand expand reach, a second cohort comprising thirty-four (34) additional womenhas been scheduled to commence training in January 2026. This phasedimplementation approach allows EJRAID and LSETF to maintain program quality, monitor outcomes effectively, and provide adequate mentorship and post-trainingsupport to beneficiaries.

Overall, the YouthSkills Acquisition Project highlights EJRAID’s dedication to sustainableempowerment by addressing unemployment, reducing economic vulnerability amongwomen, and fostering inclusive economic growth within Lagos State.
